The Anthony Cummings-trained Man From Uncle continued a nice early autumn campaign posting another Group win in the Hobartville Stakes 2017 at Rosehill Gardens.

The Uncle Mo gelding enjoyed a first-up victory at Randwick earlier in the month scoring the upset at $21 odds in the Group 3 Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m).
Racing at Rosehill for the first time, the up-and-comer showed the first-up win was no fluke beating his rivals home again in the lucrative $400,000 Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m).
It was a genuinely run edition of the set weights clash with the field led around by the consistent and up-in-class Kristen Buchanan-trained Echo Effect from Wyong.
Head tucked down, the Paul King-ridden outsider in betting led from Man From Uncle and the Chris Waller-trained favourite Cominâ Through.
Up closer to the speed also was the returning Victoria Derby winner Prized Icon travelling fourth throughout, but caught three deep.
Echo Effect held the undisputed lead heading into the straight with the others giving chase.
With just 200m left to travel the pacesetter was still the one to run down, Cominâ Through and Man From Uncle both digging deep.
The leader certainly took some beating and Man From Uncle took his time getting to him, but eventually he dived in the final stride and snared the narrow win on the outside from Echo Effect.
Cominâ Through held for third rounding out the Hobartville Stakes trifecta.
The upcoming autumn racing options are wide open for Man From Uncle who is nominated for a possible trip to Flemington on March 4 for the $750,000 Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m).
He is also entered for the 2017 Australian Derby over 2400m during Aprilâs The Championships at Royal Randwick Racecourse.
