Mick Priceâs ATC Derby-bound Tarzino is the headline nomination taken for the Rosehill Guineas 2016 on Golden Slipper Stakes Day in Sydney this weekend.

Winner of the Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington during the spring, Tavistock colt Tarzino has had two runs this time in ahead of his shot at more elite level success in Saturdayâs $600,000 Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m).
His latest was a devastatingly close second to Palentino in the Group 1 Australian Guineas (1600m) over the Flemington mile.
Tarzino lost by a short half-head and his hoop Craig Newitt also failed to win the race on protest over the first past-the-post.
Caulfield horseman Price, who also saddles-up his Blue Diamond Stakes quinella of Extreme Choice and Flying Artie as the top two fancies in the $3.5 million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m) in Sydney on Saturday, is confident Tarzino can improve this weekend.
The extra metres will suit, but if successful heâll be the first Rosehill Guineas winner to come off an Australian Guineas lead-up since Diatribe (6th) in 2000.
His major Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival assignment is the $2 million Group 1 BMW Australian Derby (2400m) at Royal Randwick on April 2, a race the Rosehill Guineas has produced the winner of seven times in the past eight years.
No filly has beaten home the boys in the Rosehill Guineas since Riverina Charm (1989), but this year the early markets fancy the Ciaron Maher-trained VRC Oaks winner from the spring Jameka as a big danger to Tarzino.
The Myboycharliefilly is third-up on the weekend and comes off a brave fifth in the Australian Guineas beaten just two lengths from a wide barrier 12 of 15 draw ahead of her Rosehill debut.
The only other filly among the Rosehill Guineas entries this season is the David Hayes & Tom Dabernig-trained Stay With Me.
Winner of the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) in Caulfield last year, the daughter of Street Cry comes via the traditional Rosehill Guineas path having crossed two lengths away fourth in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) on March 5.
Three of the past four Rosehill Guineas winners came off a Randwick Guineas run with the last to complete the double being Itâs A Dundeel (2013).
This yearâs upset Randwich Guineas winner Le Romain defeated the odds-on favourite Press Statement by a long neck on the back of a Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) second to the same Chris Waller-trained youngster.
Le Romain is nominated for not only the Rosehill Guineas on Saturday but also in two weight-for-age features holding entries for the $1 million Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) and the $700,000 Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m).
It is the same story for Wallerâs beaten Randwick Guineas favourite Press Statement, the dual Group 1 winning Hinchinbrook colt also nominated for all three races but unlikely to run in the Rosehill Guineas.
Another Randwick Guineas graduate high-up early futures markets for the Rosehill equivalent this weekend is Anthony Cummingsâ fifth-placed Montaigne, Cummings shooting for a second win following his success with Dealer Principal in 2008.
Other notable hopes include the Bjorn Baker-trained Randwick Guineas third placegetter Gold Ambition and the Gai Waterhouse-trained Australian Guineas fourth placed colt River Wild.
